Kurt, What's wrong with scoring 48% over 120 games against the very best programs? It seems to indicate that mg3 is right there in the middle of the highest level programs...it could be better, it could be worse... My updated results, after months of testing: Pentium 3-933 40/120: mg3 vs chess tiger 14 33.5-26.5 mg3 vs gambit tiger 2 32-36 mg3 vs junior 7 44-35 mg3 vs fritz 6 43.5-26.5 mg3 vs shredder 5.32 44-25 mg3 vs nimzo 8 9-4 Pentium 3- 550 40/120 mg3 vs chess tiger 14 14.5-9.5 mg3 vs gambit tiger 2 12-12 mg3 vs junior 7 10-14 mg3 vs fritz 6 16.5-7.5 mg3 vs shredder 5.32 10.5-12.5 mg3 vs. nimzo 8 13.5-10.5 I also have many games at 40/40 on various computers...games at game in 15...and plenty of blitz games...mg3 does not play as well at short time controls.. The point is, Chessmaster/the King can be tweaked to perform with the best programs. It may or may not be better, but it can certainly win its share of games and the games are often entertaining. I do have an candidate personality to be called mg4 that I'm testing...we'll see how that does.
