I do not understand what is the problem if you trust the tournament organizers not to make the source code public and not to use it to create a clone of your program. I could undertsand if you plan to do your program commercial and do not want to reveal secrets that may help the organizers to develop a program that is better than your program but I understand that it is not the case with you and you plan to release your source code.
