I didn't see this as a problem, actually it is probably an advantage.  Its nice
for the weaker participants to have a chance to 'beat the bye' :-).  For this
reason I believe TSCP is a better candidate than GnuChess.

I would think that the GnuChess people might want to enter the program as a
serious entry.

I'd be prepared to trust you, but in the current climate of paranoia I can
understand your apprehension at being put into such a position.
