If I were a betting man then, yes, I would put my money on Rebel. I think one difficulty of playing against such a formidible opponent such as Rebel, is that you have to turn up round after round after round against an opponent that will always play right up to it's rated level. There is no let up at all. At least with human vs human, you can sometimes get a little reprieve because your opponent might be having a bad day. I really think fatigue is a factor in any human vs computer match, and that will only play into the hands of the program. I agree that decent hardware will be very important. Lots of CPU Mhz, lots of stable RAM, and lots of cooling ;-) I might add that I would not always bet on computers in human vs computer matches - it all depends who is playing (obviously!). For instance, I think Fritz will be pathetically trodden on and spat out by Kramnick in March.
