Programmers keep finding that they get better ratings if they remove knowledge from their programs, and just go faster for a deeper search. Why not take a look for yourself? Download crafty, and look in the evaluate.c module at ftp://ftp.cis.uab.edu/pub/hyatt/v18/ In V17, I did a quick count of how much knowledge there was and found, if memory serves me correctly, about 150 distinct pieces of knowledge.
