The ivanov game always impressed me, white didn't do anything special to win yet it is way beyond the speed of current computers. Perfect example why Commercial Programs may not play better than Deep Thought, atleast not yet. Chess Tiger Can get a fantastic rating against an average opponent of 2497 but would this continue if it played 14 Games ? 22 or 29? Probably not. What would be nice to see is various programs throughout the years compete from Kaissia to Deep Thought against Commercials in a Round Robin Tournament but the drawback is that the speed differences should be equal. That could be a little difficult Deep Thought at one point searched 2.160.000nodes per sec Fritz on my 1Ghz looks somewhere in the vicinity of 520K give or take a few so who would come up with the bill for an 8-way 700Mhz oops yet another problem..... I think Commercials are stronger than anything prior to 1985 Definately Bebe and Hitech 22.Qc2 was played Bebe - Hitech q2r4/2p2kp1/bbn2n2/4PQ1p/1pN5/5N2/1P3PPP/2B1RK2 w - - 0 1 Analysis by Fritz 7: 22.Ng5+ Kf8 23.b3 Nxe5 24.Ne6+ Kg8 25.Qxe5 Rd7 = (0.13) Depth: 6/25 00:00:00 81kN 22.Ng5+ Kf8 23.b3 Re8 24.Nh7+ Kf7 25.exf6 Bxc4+ 26.bxc4 Rxe1+ 27.Kxe1 = (0.10) Depth: 7/23 00:00:00 159kN 22.Ng5+! ² (0.38) Depth: 8/27 00:00:01 280kN 22.Ng5+! ² (0.66) Depth: 8/27 00:00:01 386kN 22.Ng5+! ± (1.22) Depth: 8/27 00:00:01 422kN 22.Ng5+ Kf8 23.exf6 Bxc4+ 24.Kg1 Bxf2+ 25.Kxf2 Bg8 26.Qg6 Rd7 27.fxg7+ Rxg7 28.Qxh5 +- (1.54) Depth: 8/32 00:00:02 569kN 22.exf6! +- (1.57) Depth: 8/32 00:00:04 997kN 22.exf6! +- (1.72) Depth: 8/32 00:00:04 1094kN 22.exf6! +- (2.04) Depth: 8/32 00:00:05 1330kN 22.exf6 Bxc4+ 23.Kg1 Kf8 24.fxg7+ Kg8 25.Ng5 Kxg7 26.Qh7+ Kf6 27.Ne4+ Ke6 28.Nd2+ Kd6 29.Nxc4+ +- (2.19) Depth: 8/32 00:00:06 1667kN 22.exf6! +- (2.47) Depth: 9/31 00:00:11 2471kN 22.exf6! +- (2.75) Depth: 9/31 00:00:13 2965kN 22.exf6! +- (3.32) Depth: 9/31 00:00:16 3566kN 22.exf6 Bxc4+ 23.Kg1 Kf8 24.Qh7 Bxf2+ 25.Kxf2 Rd7 26.Bh6 gxh6 +- (3.44) Depth: 9/31 00:00:17 3885kN 22.exf6! +- (3.72) Depth: 10/31 00:00:26 6060kN 22.exf6! +- (4.00) Depth: 10/31 00:00:31 7243kN 22.exf6! +- (4.57) Depth: 10/31 00:00:40 8976kN (Lee, Pensacola,FL 16.01.2002)
