Subject: First "Learning" programs smart now ??

I think it was about 1995 when MChess 5.0 had a learning feature in it. Does
anyone still use that program or another "Learning" program from that time? If
so I would be interested to know the outcome of some kind of tournament between
them. Seems if a program was really learning, a program from that far back,
having played perhaps thousands of games would be quite competitive with todays
top programs.
