Chess experts? it's not swapping rooks for nothing! the pawn endgame is an easy win for black, so it is correct to trade the rooks. however, the whole endgame is just great for black, so you shouldnt be too unhappy about your engine keeping the rooks on. the main point your evaluation probably is missing is that black is de facto a pawn up, thanks to the pawn structure f4-g3-h4 vs f5-h5. this is white's pawn majority, but it is useless, while black's pawn majority is mobile. cheers martin
