Are marathons just to see 'who sucks less?' I guarantee my old Geo Metro would have *easily* outdistanced the best marathon runners in the world. Is weightlifting just to see 'who sucks less'? Any forkilft can easily better the best human who ever lived. There will be the same rason for great chess players that there has always been: to excel. To be the best. To be the best *you* can be. You think that will change? I don't. For years now, average tournament players have been bettered by cheap hardware and free software. Yet we play. I'm a 'Master'. That means something, even though my $100 Palm Pilot can take me to the cleaners (sometimes). I'll continue to play tournament chess (against humans) even after my cell phone has broken 2800. Why? because I play chess because I love it. And there are plenty of other people out there the same way, who will sit down across the board from me, regardles of what their silicon monsters at home can do. Cheers, Chris
