Subject: Need Advice: Buying a Laptop

I'd like to keep it under $2,000 and I only need it for chess.  What offers the
most bang for the buck?

hsn.com is advertising a Compaq AMD Duron 1GHz Notebook with 384RAM, 30GB H -
drive, DVD/CD-RW for $1,599.  I've never heard of this processor; how would the
top programs take to it?
