Hi Christian, I know all this, I wrote x eMails to programmers. After I abort the WB Edition III (I have not contacts to Gambit-Soft now 3-4 months) I wrote to all WB Edition III programmers the same eMail. Context is the engine give for free (for 2 or 3 months). Nejmet: No answere Leila: Later Dragon: Later AnMon: For sure yes Frank ... Pharaon: That is a interesting point !!! Franck Zibi works here on a new project with an other programmer. A learning tool with the name chess advisor (see older News Ticker pages, or messages in fora or my forum, here older messages). The Chess Advior is a school project. I believe Franck Zibi is diapointed that the WinBoard Edition III is not coming on the market, he spend a lot of time, also all other UCI programmers from the WB Edition III. I have also contacts to a top programmer for this project and 2 other programs. WinBoard Edition III with 7 engines for the market. But so far the project is not more longer actual. One reason that I am also very disapointed about commercial computer chess. Leila and Nejmet programmer get not the WM Paket 2001. I wrote x eMails to Gambit-Soft and Gambit-Soft say to me ... I send the software. Every months I wrote but the programmers got not the WM Packet 2001. So I asked Ossi Weiner after 3 months and Ossi send the WM Packet 2001 to this programmers. Not easy to make for the WinBoard Edition III the organisation. I am happy that the most programmers say to me that he will give the UCI for free. Please note: The most of this programmers have a WinBoard Engines and without this project the most of this programmers have no interest to create an UCI engine (no free UCI GUI for interesting chess player). Now we have in the future Arena and more programmers have interest to create an UCI engine. Alone in Italy 2-3 programmers wrote me that he have interest to create an UCI engine. I saw this in eMails and formulars for Arena Beta Test. >A typical "frank q.-response"! :-)) An logical Frank Q. response !! Now in German, sorry for CCC readers: Die CSS ist doch das Sprachrohr von Chess-Base, oder wie soll ich sonst Deine stetigen Ankündigungen in CCC ode sonstigen Dingen über Chess-Base News verstehen (kann mich gut an das Zeug zu dem WinBoard Adapter erinnern, Du hast hier ja laufend genau berichtet welche Programme lauffähig sind und welche nicht). Da ich nie sehe das Du diese Arbeit, als Redakteur einer Zeitschrift, auch für andere GUIs (in dieser Form) machst bzw. Updates zu anderen GUIs ankündigst ist doch logisch das solche Dinge früher oder später kommen werden. Deine "Best for Fritz" Ratingliste und x weitere Beispiele. Also, ich denke immer Du bist ein gutes Sprachrohr für Chess-Base und so eine Art "CBLitti" ...fass(s)äule ... (das meine ich nicht als "Wort der Beledigung", auch wenn Ihr ja jedes Bemerkung von mir immer so deutet). Also, Litti war auch ein guter Fussballer ... Sei mir nicht böse Christian, auch solche Herren werden benötigt. Ferner schreibst Du sehr gute Bereichte über Computerschach in der CSS und bist auch sehr bemüht um den Amateurbereich. Es ist wichtig das sich jemand dieser Sachen annimmt und WinBoard durch einen mehr oder weniger schlechten Adapter auch in Zeitschriften bekannter macht. Nicht weil WinBoard Engines unter Chess-Base laufen (da nicht gut genug, kaum interessant), sondern weil der Name WinBoard in einer Zeitschrift steht (alles andere was dort steht ist für die Verbreitung unwichtig). Nun beginnst Du ... etwas spät wie ich finde ... eine UCI Werbung :-)) Hättest Du früher machen sollen, auch wo Stefan noch bei Millennium war. Hoffe Du fühlst Dich jetzt nicht gebauchpinselt aber ich was soll ich sonst denken wenn ich Deine Arbeit so Reveau passieren lasse. Eine "Best for Chess-Assistant" Ratingliste in der CSS hätte sicherlich dazu geführt das Chess-Assistant mehr Verbreitung in Deutschland gefunden hätte. Mithin haben die Redakteure von Schachzeitungen Verantwortung und können etwas beeinflussen. Ich wünsche mir immer nur das ausgeglichen mit solchen "Mitteln" umgegangen wird. Gruss Frank
