Subject: Chess Tiger Timer Settings

More often than not the time for opponent on Tigers clock expires, adjudicating
it as a win automatic. Tiger thinks it has won by adjudication but the game
continue's and is actual lost, maybe even big time at adjudication time.

Question: Is book learning out of whack because of examples above ? I am
guessing my book is flawed because of this and Tiger is not getting the benefit
of book learning and may even slowly killing itself.

Question: Is book learning automatic ? I assume it is automatic and I need not
set anything in the GUI for it, again as I notice the percentages in the book
are changed, increase/decrease/change color (red-greene) etc. I take this as a
indication that Tiger is learning.

I prefer to set Tigers time control to 'long game' to n moves in 1 min when
playing @ a server blitz time control, example 1/3 or versions of this. I have
found that Tigers timer set in this manner has more success in wins than a Tiger
blitz setting of 1 minute. But alas the above problem.

I can avoid this by setting Timer to blitz and giving Tigers opponent offset
time advantage. In this way Tiger will not adjudicate the game before its
completion.
But this is not what I think gives the best result !

Question: At the completion of a non mate game on the server must the game be
continued (on the side)with Tiger till mate or resign before book Learning to
take place.

Hope others may be helped with these questions. I know there is confusion on the
Servers regarding this.

I do not have Fritz7 but have all of the other Fritz's back to 5.32 and other
major programs but Tiger 14 standard setting is real tough on the servers in
blitz. I would rate is best, slightly better than Fritz7.

Thanks all

Wayne
