But anyway, I think it is better to handle as few special cases as possible. If the bishop pair is really good in a certain position, and you have decent mobility code, then the program wouldn't want to lose a bishop anyway. On the other hand, if the position is blocking one bishop, the program will happily part with a bad bishop. I must admit that I give a small 0.2 pawn bonus for the bishop pair right now, as my mobility code is not good enough :) /David
