What I'm trying to put into perspective is:

- "AMD beats the P4 by a streetlenght" - which can be true in chess programs,
but is not overall true. AMD is overall faster than the P4
- "Maybe the P4 will catch up with AMD". Intel isn't necessarily the one to
"catch up", as the new design is from Intel, not from AMD, and while the P4 can
be stretched a lot further in performance, the current AMD generation can't.

As far as I'm concerned those *were* basically the facts of the original
message, and I doubted that - with arguments. Maybe they are wrong, but they're
not missing.
