Yes, I thought then and I think now that the ONLY kind of rating computers that could have sense is against humans, as much programs are for playing human as far as I know. The point is that anyway we play against them and each of us surely have a long collection of saved games that could be used for this purpose. The problem is: a) only those games playede against rated human player would be useful. b) somebody should take the job to assemble the games and calculate ratings. I suppose point two is not so difficult as much all here already expend a lot of time in this issue, testing, playing, looking, etc. Eve respect to point one there is a solution because you can give a aproximate rating to a buman and sooner or later the sheer acumulations of results will give sense to the previous rating.
