I think you can do this at least without the problem of having each program
twice on your HD.
It should work to install, say, Chessmaster once in D:\cm8000 in Win98, then
install again to the same dir in XP. The files are in no way concerned with the
OS, only the registry entries have to be done for both OS's and some .dll's will
be installed to the two different system dirs.

So you _will_ have to install each one twice, but not waste twice the disk
space.

(Actually I have an XP/2K dual boot but play chess only on 2K.)
