Maybe there is a posibility, yes -> but the wb2uci from Shredder 5 & 6 is nearly
as crippled as the ChessBase adapter, so what would that help at all ?
I am thinking about other solutions, but ask me that after Paderborn...

Okay, another solution is of course: buy the ChessPartner GUI or ChessMaster or
ChessAssistant or ChessAcadamy, those company's knows how to program a winboard
adapter...

Anyway, the effort to have UCI compatibility in CB is not bad, seems to work
fine after some first tests... Now it must be checked if they have not crippled
that protocol in the same way then WinBoard...

To Torstein: AFAIK we have the following free UCI engines: Yace, Pepito, Pharaon
& AnMon... Dragon & a new SOS might be there in the nearest future...

Available as commercials are:
LambChop 10.88
Patzer 3.61
Gandalf 4.32h
Capture R1
Shredder 5 / 6
Deep Shredder
SOS

There were some more in the pipeline for WinBoard Edition III, afaik Leila &
Nejmet were near to a working version... I know from some others and from myself
(hey, me and I, we are talking with each other from time to time... :) that some
more plan to implement UCI in the future, but with no deadline or whatever...
The only interesting feature for me is the multipv capabilitys of UCI, but maybe
that will be also soon part of the winboard specification so there is no more
need for it to me... So motivation can be to get it simply to work... in engine
strength it will not help in any way... some advanced technics and ideas can't
be tried with UCI because the protocol is to strict and does not allow the
engine enough control...

Greets, Thomas
