As Heiner pointed out already, this is because there IS no best board
representation. :) [Ok, as long as you don't ask Vincent ;)] Sure the board
representation is a rather important decision since changing it later usually
involves rewriting most of the engine, but.. I wouldn't think about performance
gains here and there... I would choose the board representation which offers the
most advantages to YOU. Ie it's dumb to choose the bitboard-aproach if you can't
'think in bitboards'. It's not that important which board representation you
choose in the end, it's important that you use their advantages to the fullest.
