I wouldn't think about performance gains here and there... I would choose the board representation which offers the most advantages to YOU. Ie it's dumb to choose the bitboard-aproach if you can't 'think in bitboards'. It's not that important which board representation you choose in the end, it's important that you use their advantages to the fullest. :) Sargon
