I think the problems having much different engine/GUI concepts are being
underestimated. My impression is, that it is much different how the functions
are shared between the engine and the GUI in WinBoard, and OTOH in Fritz. The
Fritz-GUI does much more within the game, this is probably what was so difficult
(?).
