I admit that I have no idea how difficult this might be - and that it might therefore be impractical - but in theory it should be possible to write a DOS emulator for Windows that intercepts any attempts to do something "naughty" and returns the correct values. Having said that, I suspect it would be easier to recompile Rebel as a Windows program. Perhaps there should be a Rebel CD which is bootable. When you want to play rebel, just boot from this CD. But then, of course, while you were playing Rebel, you wouldn't be able to do anything else. All in all, a Windows version of Rebel would be the best solution. One alternative would be to allow the customers to run Rebel direct from the Rebel website, through IE. This would save all the installation problems, and resolve all compatibility problems almost permanently! -g
