It means that your program may lose with black the following position

[D]8/7k/B7/7p/7K/7P/7P/8 b - -

White can capture the pawn only at ply 100

play h4 at ply 200 h5 at ply 300 h6 at ply 400 h7 at ply 500 h8Q+ at ply 600
h3 at ply 700 h4 at ply 800 h5 at ply 900 h6 at ply 1000 h7 at ply 1100 h8Q+ at
ply 1200.

Your program is unable to play 1200 plies so it is going to lose on time.
My opinion is that a limit of 3000 plies is safe for every practical purpose
inspite of the fact that from theoeretic point of view games can be longer.
