You could run some systematic tests on your EGTB implementation as follows: 1) http://chess.jaet.org/endings/docs/3-5_Mzug_Data.xls gives example maxDTC and maxDTM mzugs for all 3-5-man endgames. 2) http://chess.jaet.org/cgi-bin/mzugs gives all (dual-sourced) mzugs for 3-5-man endgames 3) A list of all maxDTM positions in 3-5-man endgames (created by Peter Karrer) can be made available if you wish ... please specify if winzip'd ok. I guess it would be useful to have a list of sample maxDTC and maxDTM positions on the web but I haven't done that yet. 4) Yes, you certainly want to test that your interface exploits Nalimov's implementation of e.p. positions. 5) Combinations of promote, capture and check(mate) have caused EGT-generation problems in the past. A few positions like that are recommended ... but I have every confidence in EN's EGTs, given the consistency-check he runs and the fact that they have passed all the tests. G
