Just start the WinBoard Startup dialogue. Enable "Play against a chess engine
or...", type the engine name (without .exe) and path, ie.

Comet /fd=Path

You can make the selection more automatic by preconfiguring the engines in the
file called WinBoard.ini (An example:
http://www.winboardengines.de/download/config.zip).

After selecting/typing two engines, you're ready to go. If you want the two
engines to play more than one game; enable "Additional options", type /mg 4
(four games with automatic switching of colours) and click on "OK". If you just
select two engines and click "OK", the games must be started manually by
selecting "Mode/Two machines".
