It appears that many many Fritz 7 problems are surfacing as time goes on. A
number of times when trying to access the crosstable during an engine
tournament, the program would unload on me. A dialogue box with "Program
Exception" and an numbered address would appear. Click to close the box and the
program would unload.
Now I at least wait until the opening is over before I even try to bring up the
crosstable. For a while I could not follow the results of a tournament until it
ended. Even then it would close out just after the attempt to access the
crosstable from the recent tournament when right clicking onto a given game from
the database. It would then allow me to bring up the crosstable when I reloaded
the program. Other times it would work just fine. Lately, everything has been
just fine, however.

Notice you do not see RATINGS of the players or Programs in the Fritz 7 database
window, when applying ratings to them. You will see the newly applied rating
when you open up the rating window.
In Fritz 6 and Deep Fritz, you would see the new ratings alongside the players
name in the database player selection window.

Perhaps they released the Fritz 7 program a little too soon. On the other hand,
we at least have the latest Fritz engine which is stronger than it's
predecessor. One can always use the Upgraded engine in the Fritz 6, Junior 6 or
Deep Fritz interfaces, without having all the other problems.
