Subject: Opening book work

Hi all,

One of the big TODOs on my list is work on my engine's opening book. Right now
its automatically generated based on some PGN games I got from the 'net. While
I'm certainly no expert (I'm in fact terrible at chess) I'd like concentrate on
one opening at a time and tune the way that opening is played to benefit the
machine. For example I already try to avoid kid and benko openings because I've
found the engine does not play them well. Despite what people say about the
Benoni I think it does ok with that one.

What I'd like to do is play a bunch of (rated or unrated) games with some engine
on ICC that's around the same strength as mine using the same opening. Steffen
and I did this at one point with the Alekhine's and I think it was beneficial
for us both. If anyone's interested, let me know.

Also any other ideas about book tuning would be appreciated!

Scott
