The main event runs Wednesday 17th - Friday 21st when the "Giants" event takes place. Kasparov, Anand and Kramnik play, along with Vassily Ivanchuk after the last minute withdrawal from the event by Anatoly Karpov. Timman, Korchnoi, Jussupow, Portisch, Huebner, Beim and Adorjan are amongst the players in the Master's group. "All games will be played at rapid (active) chess time limits."
