I have compared the Fritz 7 engine version(s) 7.0.0.6 of Jan. 1st, and of Jan.
11th, in 40 - mostly easy - testpositions:
identical: 30/40 (incl. 5 not solved each)
± 1 second: 4/40
slower: 4/40
faster: 2/40 http://www.icdchess.com/forums/1/message.shtml?210097
I think, IF there are no other differences which affect gameplay only (time
consumption or whatever), we can say that the differences are very small,
probably invisible in result statistics.
It was discovered that evaluation is slightly different, so I would expect
different test results in some positions, when the evaluation of the move Fritz
7 thinks is 2nd best is/was very similar (to the best move's).
