But the problem is, that it hasnt been proven yet, that ponder=off effects
crafty more than it effects any other programs.

I know that Volker did some kinda experiment with it, and couldn't come up with
anything IIRC ;).
Bob replied to one of my post recently by saying (something like) that, the
gradual tweaking on the codes from versions to versions might have overcome this
problem.

SO IMO it's a "not so sure" situation, which I believe we shouldn't give much
importance.

interesting, I once too believed that crafty had problems with ponder=off. :)
