By a strategy of takebacks, you could easily create plans that will win against it. I have the source code for most versions of Quark (starting since November 2000), including 1.50 and the contest version 1.67. So if his machine burned the source code along with it, I have a backup. I expect he will allow a release of his current version shortly. Thomas is far more sensitive about bugs in his program than most Winboard programmers are. His whole program is a single file consisting of about 10K lines of C++ (not couning the tablebase file Tbindex.cpp). Pretty amazing, eh?
