I think if you would give Fritz5.32 more ram he would go further in ply
I always see Fritz as a program where ram is of much importance.
you should do a same experiment with Junior
then you will see a real diference in ply.
you also could use my quick set setting for fritz7 al  pieces for computer to 1
exept for pawn
and kingsafety to 5
intresting play will apear also much harder to beat for fritz5.32
