"the main reason for Ponomariov’s sudden success this year is nothing other than the time control." - Garry Kasparov If GM Kasparov is correct we have a *weak* but steady player that can handle the new time control as Fide Wolrd Champion. I was wondering how much the new Fide time control would help Computer chess programs when playing strong humans versus the old standard of 40 moves in 2 hours? If the new time controls becomes standard for all chess games and matches between computers and humans.
