There was one case when I saw mate in 2 when I had KBB vs K the time control was 90 minutes/30 moves+60 minutes/rest of the game and I had less than 1 second to finish the game. When I played the mate I lost on time but the position on the board decide and not the clock. I was lucky because I could draw if I had slightly less time. I could not finish the game one move earlier by declaring mate in 2 otherwise it was better for me to do it to avoid the risk that did not happen of losing on time and drawing the game. Uri
