IMO kasparov is *not* implying that we have a weak but steady player as world champion. i think he wants to say that an older player like ivanchuk had more difficulty to adapt to a new time control than a very young player like ponomariov. if you look at the games, you will also see that ivanchuk was playing chess just as well as ponomariov, but as usual, his nerves let him down. possibly because of the shorter time control it was worse than usual. aloha martin
