It has some time heuristics based on search. If Score is not falling during the last n itererations and the percentage fraction of node count of the best move and total node count exceeds a threshold (>~95%) then the average time would greatly reduced. I also consider some Recaptures, specially if there is only one way to recapture. In PxQ situations average time may shink to 1/16. I dont't forced any move during CCT4! But if i had to go away from pc for a few minutes, it was most likely in situations, where IsiChess was pondering an obvious move. I hadn't much experience with IsiChessX with all/60 and time increment. As usual i played all rounds with some minutes less because of operator time, even if i implemented fisher clock few days before, used 6 seconds increment. I hate time trouble, saw so may disasters. And you loose time of couse if you play manually, with the risk to enter a wrong move with BlitzIn. The seocnd weekend i played with timecontrol (40/45 and 50/50). IsiChess played rather fast, even if there was no ponder hit, specially in the early game state, and when it's score was OK. But if not... IsiChessX (programming started in summer 2000) is no direct successor of my previous DOS IsiChess (Development 91-98). Complete new program, some ideas adapted, looking for a new name. It is a windows program with it's own GUI (a kind of Multiple Document Interface) but stil in development state, so lot to do with GUI and engine. All written in C++ except a few inline asm. Rotated Bitboards like Crafty and others. Thanks to Bob Hyatt and Ernst Heinz for their well written Papers in ICCA-Journal. Due to less time, some engine bugs and lazyness or time needed to relax from job, i was not able to support any autoplay or winboard, i thought before in December. DOS IsiChess was able to play automaticly via Donninger's 232 Autoplayer Protocol. Regards, Gerd
