Microsoft does not have a compiler that is better (or nearly as good as), say, the KAI compiler, or other industrial strength compilers. If they had, they would sell it. He might use some special version of MSVC, but I bet that several industrial strength compilers are better. Of course, if you want the full power of such a compiler, it will take an hour to build Crafty. /David
