Remember that humans are not static, they are dynamic. Some people may perform
very bad in one tournament and then the next tournament they will perform way
above their previous performance. The thing is humans know how to learn. I guess
Van Wely learned a lot from his mistakes in the super tournament that when he
face Rebel, he might be a stronger player. Its better that he has a slump now
than on his match. We'll see.
