I fail to see that OO is better than FP for GUI work. But it is used more often, that's for sure. The fitness of any language is hard to measure, but closures as found in FP are a real boon for GUI design. It simplifies events and makes moot modality. And for web servers too actually. Look at DrScheme and MzScheme and the PLT lectures about Functional proggaming and web services. MvH Dan Andersson
