You cannot learn from your own experience against
other class A players the knowledge accumulated in a century of chess strategy.
You need to read at least a little and care a little.
When I was a kid, 11 years old, GM Panno was giving group classes to the people
of the club. I used to play at that time against a young boy (~17 yrs old)
blitz. One day the class was about to start and my mother that was around saw
that this boy headed to another room. She asked him "Don't you go to the class?"
and he answered "No, I know already what he teaches, isolated pawns blah blah
blah" Well, the point is that he had a wrong attitude and he _thought_ he knew.
Of course, I never saw him go farther than class B even years after that.

Tactics are important, but most important is the right attitude to identify your
weaknesses to improve from them. Neglecting whole aspects of the game won't
take you far.

Miguel
