It depends on who the opponent is and what his or her playing style is. >Eran Some information about the Rxe6 position. The position comes from a magazine and was commented that Bh6 is the best move. The magazine gives the followings points for selected moves... C1H6=10 E1E6=08 D4E6=07 H3H6=03 So 10 points for Bh6 8 points for Rxe6 7 points for Nxe6 3 points for Qh6 Now I agree with the magazine that Bh6 is the best move and so I want Rebel to play it. But it doesn't happen. What happens is... #1. Rebel likes Bh6 from the very start, sofar so good. #2. Then surprisingly it comes up with Rxe6, fine with me too! #3. Then the score of Rxe6 (at longer time control) drops to -1.00 again. #4. Then Rebel switches to the in my opinion ugly Qd3 which I consider as a worthless move doing nothing to keep the attack going on and is simply dead wrong playing a GM. Whatever the discussion if Rxe6 is a good or bad move IN THE END (for this position) is *not* important. What *is* important is that white is a pawn down. For that white has compensation as the black position is under great pressure. If black is able to defend and escape from white's attack black ends up with a pawn up which will give black good winning chances. So white's attack must go on by all means. Meaning to say: Bh6 fine! Rxe6 even better Qd3 horrible! Rebel10 with anti-GM plays Rxe6 and I am very pleased with it. Taking into consideration that white is a pawn down and the white attack must go on by all means because of that, Rxe6 will give any GM a very hard time especially on short time controls and that's exactly *one* of the goals of anti-GM. Maybe(?) Rxe6 is not the best move playing against another computer and Qd3 is simply better, but it is my opinion that Qd3 against any GM is no option at all. - Ed -
