Those are terms coined within Crafty.

Book learning is based on the first ten non-book move searches.  The scores
are used to produce some sort of assessment of that particular book line and
the book is updated after those 10 non-book moves have been made otb.

Result learning blocks lines that lead to losses, even if the initial
scores looked good.

As I said, those definitions are what is used in Crafty, and I was not aware
of anyone else using those "terms" when I first started to work on the learning
code...
