Most Pc's have serial ports. Before internal modems they were used for external
modems. What OS are you using? In Unix it can be configured using admintool, in
Windows it can be checked by right clicking MY COMPUTER and going into devices
on NT and 2000 and I think also 98,95. The serial cable for RS232 will need to
have pins 2-3 crossed(send vs recv)  and 5 is ground....thats it. You may also
want to be sure that the interupts are free if its a really old computer.
