I experienced similar results, if time is not of a concern, turn futility
pruning off (F7 may even be stronger with F.P. off in active chess with medium
time controls, e.g., 25 min/ game on a fast computer).

Too bad you can't save F.P. off in the settings, or can you? Every time I start
Fritz, F.P. is turned back on (version 7.006).

Helge.
