I think CSS is dead wrong, but for a different reason. They are nuts if they
think that more people buy fritz, than ChessMaster. Compare the prices. Go
visit Comp USA and find out which one *they* sell. Chessmaster crushes everyone
based on such numbers. I have worked with a couple of local high-school type
chess clubs, and every one there knew about chessmaster (and battle chess) but
had not heard of Fritz (too expensive, same for Rebel, Genius, and the others.)

They probably have their own agenda in releasing such a number, but it's not
near reality around where I live. Among tournament chess players, yes, I'd
guess Fritz is clearly #1, with the others selling somewhere behind that. But
in total numbers? Two of my neighbors kids got ChessMaster for christmas, for
example...

When parents choose between 30 bucks and 100 bucks, there isn't much to choose
between unless you have a budding Fischer in the house. :)
