I just read an interesting statement about the performance of the new MS C++ 6.0 compiler on http://www.zdnet.com/pcweek/reviews/0622/24aplus.html They claim that it is 20% faster than VC 5 on their own TAK benchmark (due to aggressive Pentium optimizations). Hopefully some of this performance increase will make it into our chess programs ... Moritz
