It is possible that a string option need a default value in UCI. The idea is that you only need to install the adapter once and make each Winboard-engine as a personality to the Wb2Uci adapter. It was here I was asking what the option-fileformat (.eng file) was, then there could be possible to make ready to use default values for each engine. Also, one of the idea with this UCI is that you shouldnt need any ini file. There is also a missing help button. Is Fritz or an UCI GUI able to show a button? I don't see any in the CA GUI either. I see on my CA that it some problem when updating an engine. The option dalog would not be updated. If it is the same on Fritz you could tr to delete it first and then update it or install it under a new name. Odd Gunnar PS. If this thread get to personal a moderator could hint me, but I will try to talk in general and not specific about the adapter.
