Do you probe the endgame tablebases anytime that there are 5 or fewer pieces (assuming that you make use of the 5,4,3 men TB's), or do you only do it for the first few plies, or the first ply? It seems like once you get moderately deep into a search, you aren't going to find a case where all of the search paths will result in tablebase hits, so at some ply depth it seems like you should stop probing. What do you do? Russell
