Excuse my ignorance, and I could research this, but TIME for an upgrade. Honestely I feel 1 needs 1 computer for just chess..!?&*%$ I notice the SSDF Rating list utilizes Athlon?? I've had an Acer Pentium for approx. 7 years with no problems. Which is the best, or rather the better other than Linux for running chess engine, database programs? Also I've noticed Windows XP has problems with certain programs or is not recommended. Anyone with experience, would be apreciated. Currentently I run 2 databae programs Chess Assistant & Chessebase, along with Fritz 6 & Hiarcs 7.32. Thanks
