Odd Gunnar Malin rand Crafty and Yace for all depth from 1 to 8 on the big Quite Test set that I posted. For those that agreed with the bm assessment, he created a subset. I then ran Chess Tiger on the positions that he made as a subset. Only those positions where the key move was found immediately and held for several plies were keps. I then ran the positions for 400 seconds each on an Athlon 950 MHz machine. I threw out all problems where an alternate solution was found and also all those problems where the score was both negative and larger than half a pawn. The new subset of quiet test is here: ftp://cap.connx.com/pub/EPD/quiet.epd This version retains the crafty analysis data at 400 seconds for comparision purposes.
