I agree that White is better in the position you speak of:

[d] r2rb1k1/1p3ppp/1n1ppq2/1P2P3/5P2/2NB4/2P3PP/3RQR1K b - - 0 5

However, I wonder what's the best way for White to proceed after:

5...dxe5 6.fxe5 Qg5:

[d] r2rb1k1/1p3ppp/1n2p3/1P2P1q1/8/2NB4/2P3PP/3RQR1K w - - 0 7

Would it be this?:

7.Qe4 g6 8.Rde1 Rab8 9.Nd1 Nd7 10.Nf2 Nc5 11.Qf3

   [11.Qb4 Rbc8 +/- but I am not sure how White should proceed]

11...Nxd3 12.cxd3 Bxb5 13.Ne4 Qe7 and maybe Black can survive?


Because this doesn't seem to win:

7.Rf3 Rac8 8.Rg3 Qf4 9.Rh3 h6 10.Rf3 Qg5 =
