I had such problems too, sometimes... i.e., I constantly forget what type of pieces the "total" fields include: No pawns, but the kings! I'm still using CB 7.0, but I think the screendump will also be useful for CB 8.0 (in any case, press "reset all" in the main search mask before going to "material"): http://members.surfeu.at/mscheidl/cbsearch.gif That worked.
